Let’s start by saying naming this one was the hardest yet. Cheesy Egg Boats (Ahoy, Captain Cook!), Large Cheesy Baked Egg Toasty Breads (Doesn’t sound quite right), Egg without a hole? Now you see why we went with just, Cheesy Egg Toast. You have these ingredients on hand, I just know you do. It’s almost the weekend and you’re wondering what you’re going to make this time around. Well, you’re going to make these delicious cheesy toast plates for baked eggs that travel cleanly to your mouth smoothed in cheese. You’re right, you’re right- we’ll stick with Cheesy Egg Toast.

Sandwich bread, fresh-baked sourdough, homemade dutch oven bread, it doesn’t matter what you pick this is the best simple weekend breakfast. One pan and done. Between the carb cradle for the egg, the delicious fresh cracked black pepper and the sharp cheddar cheese you’re going to be dreaming about these until Sunday morning.   • Preheat oven to 350F teaspoon, create the edges for your bread boat. Press down the bread almost to the crust, until the crust serves as a high edge. Try not to cut through the bread! Repeat this technique for all 4 slices of bread.
  • Spray a cookie sheet covered in tinfoil with cooking spray. Lay the bread on top. Season the bread with salt and pepper, butter the edges and crack one egg into each prepared slice of bread. Season the egg on top as well.
  • Sprinkle shredded cheese onto the buttered edges. Toast at 350F in your oven (or toaster oven!) until the egg is as solid as you desire and the cheese has melted.
  • Serve right away and eat with a fork and knife, or just pick it up like a piece of toast!
